Summer Fun For Home-Start Kids

24th April 2006
Lisburn Home-Start has received a welcome funding boost from the Phoenix Energy for Children Charity with the news that all of the children supported by the initiative are to get a fun activity day out to Carnfunnock Country Park in Larne.
Home-Start offers support for parents with young children, helping families from a wide variety of backgrounds that need assistance for many different reasons. In the last year Lisburn Home-Start has supported 70 local families, caring for 164 local children.
The Energy for Children Charity set up by the natural gas industry aims to raise £100,000 towards the needs of disadvantaged children and to really make a difference to their lives. The funding agreed will cover all costs for the Home-Start fun day of activities in August.
Jackie Valentine, Co-ordinator for Lisburn Home-Start, said:
“We are delighted to receive this funding as the trip will bring together all the children for a memorable summer day out. It makes a big difference to the kids and we can all now start planning and looking forward to it”.
