Industry Unites For Fundraising Football Tournament

8th May 2006

A large number of teams from throughout the local natural gas industry got together at the end of April to play a highly contested 6 a-side football tournament to raise money for the Phoenix Energy For Children Charity.

The Energy for Children Charity was set up this year by the natural gas industry and aims to raise £100,000 towards local children’s needs.

The competition was played at Malone Sports Facilities in Belfast and proved so popular that it had to be run over 2 days. Worcester Bosch ran out 6-3 winners in a highly anticipated final against a team from Seamus McCorry gas installers.

Alex Brady (Brady Plumbing and Heating), who organised the event, commented:

“I want to thank everyone involved in what was a great tournament played in good spirit, and to say congratulations to the Worcester Bosch boys who in the end certainly proved worthy winners”.
