Phoenix Supply Makes Price Pledge

08 January 2009

On the day that Phoenix gas prices fell by 22.1% (Thursday, 8th January 2009) the company has made a price pledge that should global wholesale gas costs reduce further they will, once again, ensure any savings are passed on to their customers, in full.

Entering into what are traditionally the coldest months of the year, the average household gas bill will now drop by £153 a year, to around £10 per week.

David Strahan, General Manager of Phoenix Supply Ltd said: "Today we are delighted to confirm that the 22.1% reduction in natural gas prices is now effective. We are also making a further price pledge, that should the price Phoenix pay for wholesale gas reduce even further, we will reflect any savings in the price our customers pay."

Mr Strahan continued: "To our knowledge, we are the only energy supplier in the UK or Ireland to make this promise which is testament to our commitment to deliver natural gas at the lowest possible price to our customers."

Concluding Mr Strahan said: "Even during these difficult economic times we are confident that our customer base will continue to grow significantly throughout 2009."

This week Phoenix has also presented a package of public announcements on radio about the price drop, the further commitment to reflect any additional savings in the price customers' pay, customer advice and promotion of the Phoenix Energy Care Scheme for vulnerable customers.
