Local Lad Scoops Athletics Gold

Large numbers of local aspiring young athletes had the opportunity to sample life in the fast lane at last weekend’s Irish Indoor Athletics Championships held at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.
While the action was primarily centred on the elite athletes from all over Europe, there were also large amounts of children from throughout the province participating in the Phoenix ‘Olympic Flames’ Age Group Championships.
Amongst those who caught the eye was 14 year-old Adam Ingram from Lagan Valley Athletics Club, who went home with the gold medal in the 800 metres.
