GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
PETER DIXON


yesA life long gasman, Peter began his career as an Engineer in 1976 with North West Gas in Liverpool. He has spent time working in most, if not all of the UK gas business activities. He played a key role in the break-up of what was the old British Gas into separate stand-alone businesses.

Peter joined Phoenix as Commercial Director in February 1997. He was appointed to the Board of Phoenix as Chief Executive Officer in July 2000. He was appointed to the Board of East Surrey Holdings plc a FTSE 250 company in 2003.

Peter is a past Council Member of the CBI, Chairman of the SBGI Transporters and Shippers Forum, Advisory Board Member of Common Purpose NI and director of the National Utility Skills Council. He is a Companion of the Institute of Gas Engineers, in recognition of his significant contribution to the gas industry. He currently sits on the Business in The Community Employer's Steering Group and supports many of the BITC and Common Purpose initiatives. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Energy, is on the development board of the Ulster Orchestra and is chairman of the 'Energy for Children' Charitable Trust, a new registered charity set up in early 2006.

 

RETAIL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
ALASTAIR POLLOCK


yesAlastair has spent the last 12 years of his career working in the Retail Market. He spent 8 years in the Oil Business in England, Scotland and N.I. and gained experience in Sales, Strategic Planning, Network Development and Organisational Change. In 1996 he was appointed Managing Director of Kwik-Fit Ireland and joined Phoenix Natural Gas during November 2000. Alastair has responsibility for all aspects of Sales Operations including Housing Executive, New Build Homes, and Owner Occupied Properties. He also has responsibility for Commercial Sales, Trade & Industry Development and Customer Service.

 


COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
IVAN BELL


yesIvan is a chartered engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers who spent 8 years involved in various aspects of the natural gas industry in Great Britain. In 1998 he returned home to Northern Ireland as Transportation Development Manager for Phoenix, before taking on the position of Commercial Manager in November 1999. Ivan is Commercial Operations Director responsible for the Construction, Operation and Maintenance of the Gas Distribution and Transmission Pipeline Network, the provision of additional Customer Connections and the delivery of the company's Health, Safety and Environmental policy - including the emergency services operation and Network Design and Planning. He also has responsibility for providing transportation services to all gas supply companies and end users.


GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR
MICHAEL McKINSTRY


yesMichael is a qualified accountant with extensive management experience within a cross section of Northern Ireland's best-known local businesses. He started his career in 1984 with GEC, worked in the textiles industry with Ulster Weavers and then joined Premier Power after its purchase by British Gas in 1993. In 1996 Michael joined Phoenix, taking responsibility for a range of business support activities including Finance, Customer Accounting, HR, IT and Business Administration. Michael now assumes responsibility for Finance, HR, Customer Accounting, Business Services, Procurement, IT and Total Quality Management.
